THE CREDIT CARD ACT
Overview:
The Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility and
Disclosure Act of 2009 (Credit CARD Act or CARD Act) was passed
by Congress in an attempt to correct some of the credit card
industry practices that were deemed unfair or deceptive to consumers.
The Federal Reserve Board has issued rules amending Regulation
Z (Truth in Lending) to implement the provisions of the Credit
CARD Act and other changes affecting credit cards and all open-end
loan products.
